Tauwhiriwhiri Programmes
How can rangatahi grow confidence, practical skills, and purpose while preparing for study or employment?
Tauwhiriwhiri is an NZQA-aligned foundation pathway supporting rangatahi into a wide range of study and employment outcomes, using digital and creative technologies as a context for growth.
NZQA-Accredited
Programme Overview
Our NZQA accredited programmes provide a supported, step-by-step pathway into digital and creative technologies. Across Levels 1–3, learners develop confidence, wellbeing, teamwork, and practical skills grounded in kaupapa Māori values and real-world application.
Just as importantly, these programmes are designed for learners who thrive in small class environments with high pastoral care. We prioritise strong relationships, individual support, and learning at a pace that works for each learner.
While digital and creative technologies sit at the heart of the curriculum, the skills gained extend well beyond tech. Graduates go on to further study, training, and employment across a wide range of industries, including non-tech pathways, carrying with them transferable skills in communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and self-management.
Non-Accredited
Work-Ready Pathway
Our Non-Accredited Pathway is designed for rangatahi aged 15–24 who are not currently engaged in work, training, or education and need extra time and support to prepare for their next step. The pathway focuses on work-readiness, confidence-building, and wellbeing within a small, high-support learning environment.
Learners are supported to gain essential employability skills, including building a CV, preparing for interviews, obtaining key documents (such as identification and driver’s licences), developing workplace communication skills, and establishing reliable routines. The programme supports rangatahi to explore interests and build the confidence and practical readiness needed to move into employment, training, or accredited education.
